Plot

This story is of a girl named Virginia Simpson who is waiting to join her boyfriend in college. It shows her struggles and hard-times. The book also shows her courage that holds her family together.

Morality

There are good morals. The author explains how even the most terrible happening can be be made easier if you have Jesus in your live.

Spiritual Content

Virginia is a "Christian" and loves to spread the good news to others. She lives with a preacher and his mother for a time and is brought up in a Christian atmosphere.

There is no violence.

Virginia's ex-best friend's father drinks. He was an alcoholic until he was saved.

Conclusion

A Searching Heart is a book that will make you excited at times and will almost make you cry at other times as you feel the pain of the characters. This is a very good book with good Christian morals. Though not considered one of Oke's best novels, it is still a nice read for fans of her other books.
