A very good read, but be warned about some mild violence.

Plot

(This book is a sequel to Ed Stewart's "Millennium's Eve".)

Dr. Evan Rider and his newlywed start off on a honeymoon, only to be stopped by a man from Dr. Rider's past. The honeymoon becomes a nightmare as a long buried secret erupts, engulfing the couple in blackmail, anxiety, and terror. The two must rely on their faith to get them through.

Morality

The main character is only newly a Christian, but still struggles with past sin, constantly wondering if his wife really forgives him.

The "good" characters struggle like any humans, but try to live by God's standards. The "bad" characters never show remorse for their actions, and are "hired" assassins.

Spiritual Content

There are Christians in the book who pray, and try and do as the Lord would want them to do.
A non-Christian struggles with believing in God, but later in the book encounters the Lord, and asks Him into her heart.

Violence

There are several killings, as an assassin is hired to kill. Only one is graphically described, and one other character threatens the main characters after he abducts them.

Drug and Alcohol Content

A non-believer drinks margaritas several times in the book to relax.

Sexual Content

Dr. Evan and his wife are intimate on their wedding night, but none of their actions are described in the book. Two other characters talk about how they almost had a sexual relationship one night, but it is talked about respectfully, not crudely.

Crude or Profane Language or Content

The author occasionally has an assassin let out a "curse," but the curse is never actually printed on the page.

Conclusion

A very good suspenseful read, but also a good lesson on never covering up your past sins. It is best read by mature readers because of the sexual content, though it is respectful and in its place. The characters are fascinating, and I found myself finishing this book after one day.
