Good first story in a very well-written series.
PlotDink, Josh, and Ruth Rose are best friends who live in the town of Green Lawn, Connecticut. One day, when their favorite mystery author Wallis Wallace doesn't show up for his book signing, they go to investigate. What they find is a mystery of their own.
MoralityThe laws of morality are abided by. While there is some discussion about a person having been kidnapped, it is resolved.
Spiritual ContentGod is not mentioned in this book; Dink, Josh, Ruth Rose, and their friends and family all live very moral lives.
ViolenceThe author is gagged and tied to a chair.
Drug and Alcohol ContentNone.
Crude or Profane Language or ContentNone.
ConclusionThis series is one of the best "easy readers" ever written: the plot is enjoyable, the characters likeable, and the writing style good. It is a fun read for younger children who enjoy mysteries, and makes a good alternative to the ever-popular "Nancy Drew" and "Hardy Boys" books.
