The Goose Girl

by Shannon Hale
Series: The Books of Bayern #1
400 pages, Fantasy
Reviewed by LadyEarwen

A great book with some violence but an entertaining story.

Plot

Princess Isi is leaving her kingdom to wed the prince of Bayern. Halfway there, her closest friends betray her, and she must run from them.

Morality

Morality is pretty good in this book, right is right and wrong is wrong.

Spiritual Content

None.

Violence

Quite a lot of fighting, tastefully done but graphic enough that this is a teen book.

Drug and Alcohol Content

None.

Sexual Content

One enemy soldier asks Isi if she is afraid to be alone with him.

Crude or Profane Language or Content

I cannot remember any profane language.

Conclusion

An excellent fantasy book, a re-doing of the old fairy tale 'The Goose Girl'. I would recommend it, especially since the romance is very clean and mild and there is hardly any.
